Two Black Hole Holography, Lensing and Intensity

چکیده
We numerically verify the analysis of the “expanding horizon” theory of Susskind in relation to the ’t Hooft holographic conjecture. By using a numerical simulation to work out the image formed by two black holes upon a screen very far away, it is seen that it is impossible for a horizon to hide behind another. We also compute the intensity distribution of such an arrangement. 1 E-mail: [email protected]

A note on gravitational wave lensing
In a recent paper (Ruffa 1999) it was proposed that the massive black hole at the Galactic center may act as a gravitational lens focusing gravitational wave energy to the Earth. Considering the gravitational wave signal emitted by galactic spinning pulsars, an enhancement in the gravitational wave intensity by a factor of a few thousand is found. For galactic and extra-galactic sources the int...
متن کاملMatching Condition on the Event Horizon and Holography Principle
It is shown that the event horizon of 4D black hole or ds2 = 0 surfaces of multidimensional wormhole-like solutions reduce the amount of information necessary for determining the whole spacetime and hence satisfy the Holography principle. This leads to the fact that by matching two metrics on a ds2 = 0 surface (an event horizon for 4D black holes) we can match only the metric components but not...
متن کاملA Simple Model for Lensing by Black Holes in Galactic Nuclei
The lensing properties of the Plummer model with a central point mass and external shear are derived, including the image multiplicities, critical curves and caustics. This provides a simple model for a flattened galaxy with a central supermassive black hole. For the Plummer model with black hole, the maximum number of images is 4, provided the black hole mass is less than an upper bound which ...
متن کاملGravitational Lensing of stars in the central arcsecond of our Galaxy
In the neighborhood of Sgr A*, several stars (S2, S12, S14, S1, S8, S13) enjoy an accurate determination of their orbital parameters. General Relativity predicts that the central black hole acts as a gravitational lens on these stars, generating a secondary image and two infinite series of relativistic images. For each of these six stars, we calculate the light curves for the secondary and the ...
متن کاملBlack hole entropy as entanglement entropy: a holographic derivation
We study the possibility that black hole entropy be identified as entropy of entanglement across the horizon of the vacuum of a quantum field in the presence of the black hole. We argue that a recent proposal for computing entanglement entropy using AdS/CFT holography implies that black hole entropy can be exactly equated with entanglement entropy. The implementation of entanglement entropy in ...
